Extra-curricular activities form an important part of life at Coláiste Cholmcille, as we strive to ensure students experience a broad-based education. Through extra-curricular activities, students improve their own wellbeing, their mental and physical health, gain a sense of achievement, and form bonds with others in their community.

Sport at CCBS

We have a wide range of sports teams at all age levels for boys and girls at Coláiste Cholmcille, many of which have performed impressively at regional and national levels.

Activities

There are lots of activities to take part in, such as Games at lunchtime, the Ukulele Band, the Trad Band, the Coláiste Cholmcille Choir, and much more. The list of activities is never-ending at Coláiste Cholmcille, and changes from year to year. Many students get involved in the local community through activities such as decorating shop windows at Hallowe’en, selling daffodils on Daffodil Day or hosting cyclists for the Cycle Against Suicide…but there are many more ways to get involved at Coláiste Cholmcille.

Performing Arts

Coláiste Cholmcille has a long and rich history of producing top-quality musicals as well as participating in local and national drama competitions. Traditionally, we put on a musical each year, involving students from non-exam years in all aspects of the show. Recent productions have included We Will Rock You, Back to the 80s, Grease, Hairspray, West Side Story, Camp Rock and Abba Mia. Transition Year students take part in the Donegal Youth Theatre Competition in Ballybofey, and the All Ireland TY Drama Competition.
